AERO MONTE VISTA .... Adjoins Sandia Airpark Estates

Aero Monte Vista is located on the eastern slope of the Sandia Mountains, in the heart of "The Land of Enchantment".  New Mexico is known for clean, clear air and lots of sunshine.  It is extremely rare to have a completely overcast day.  This is a high "Desert" area with annual precipitation of 15 to 22 inches.  It seldom rains in winter months, with light snow possible between December to March.


Aero Monte Vista is in  the Town of Edgewood.  Edgewood has a Super Walmart, Smiths Grocery store, Walgreens, Tractor Supply, Raks Lumber & Hardware,  Harbor Freight, Feed Stores, and several Restaurants.


The nearby Rio Grande Valley is rich in history with many authentic Pueblos.  These Pueblos have been the home of Native people for many centuries.  Tribal dance events take place throughout the year.  The Pueblos are famous for rugs, jewelry and pottery.


Albuquerque is located 25 miles to the west and is the largest city in New Mexico with a Population in 2020: 580,917


This is approximately 1/3 of the state population of 1.9 million and growing.  New Mexico's elevation ranges between 3500 to 13,000 ft.

Santa Fe is located approximately 45 miles to the North and is the state Capitol.  Santa Fe, "The City Different", is known throughout the world for its rich and color tri-cultural history.  Population of 78,199.  Santa Fe Ski area has excellent skiing.

Recreation possibilities seem endless and include such activities as:  fishing, skiing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, ballooning, hunting, just to name a few.  Sandia Peak ski area is located just 15 miles to the West, just off the Historic Turquoise Trail, a gold and silver mining district dating back to pre Spanish Conquistador era.

Aero Monte Vista covers 240 acres and is adjacent to Sandia Airpark Estates.  Sandia Airpark was the original airpark first developed in the late 80's, on 160 acres.  Sandia Airpark was developed with 1 acre lots, all located South of the paved, lighted runway of approx. 5000 ft.  Sandia Airpark is now about 90% sold out, with homes on about 50 lots.  There is a commercial FBO area at the very West end of the airpark with hangar rentals, aircraft maintenance and fuel sales. 

Aero Monte Vista was platted in 1996,  offering larger lot sizes than in Sandia Airpark and less Restrictions.  Taxiways are in place with asphalt surface.  The taxiways are private and most will be used jointly by vehicles and aircraft.  There is currently an annual fee of $175 dollars per lot (way cheap) payable to Sandia Inc., for runway maintenance.  Brief covenants  that address the road/taxiway maintenance. We do not have an active HOA  so as to avoid the typical politics and drama that occur within HOA's. If we need to repair or improve a taxiway, we assess each lot that uses that taxiway , a pro rata share.   There are 13 homes already in place.
